Hitmen leading goal scorer Oliver Tulk to join NCAA’s Wisconsin Badgers for 2025-26 season
Calgary Hitmen forward Oliver Tulk is joining the NCAA’s University of Wisconsin men’s hockey team next season.
The Hitmen announced that Tulk will join the Badgers for the 2025-26 season.
The 19-year-old Tulk is in his fourth season with the Hitmen and leads the team with 15 goals and 34 assists for 49 points in 30 games. He’s on an 11-game point streak.
In 227 games with the Hitmen over that span, Tulk has 88 goals, 120 assists and 208 points.
“Oliver has been an excellent Hitmen during his career in Calgary” said Hitmen general manager, Garry Davidson in a media release, “It is important to recognize the opportunity for him next year and partner with Wisconsin in continuing his development for the rest of this season."
Tulk’s move to the Badgers comes as a result of a November ruling that hockey players who have played in the three Canadian Hockey Leagues (CHL) -- the WHL, QMHL and OHL -- have been declared eligible to play Division 1 NCAA hockey, starting Aug. 1, 2025.
Prior to the rule change, CHL players were considered professionals and barred from the NCAA, partly because some players have signed entry-level NHL contracts.
“I’m excited to announce my commitment to Wisconsin University for the 2025-2026 season” said Tulk, “I’m also grateful for my time with the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL. I’d like to thank the Hitmen coaching staff and management for their support in my development both on and off the ice.”
