The Hurricanes continued to ride a hot streak at home Wednesday, as they edged the Blades 2-1 in a game played at VisitLethbridge.com Arena.

After a scoreless first period in which the Hurricanes outshot Saskatoon 14-8, they took a 2-0 lead on goals from Miguel Marques and Chase Petersen.

For Petersen, it was his first WHL goal.

Ben Saunderson cut the Lethbridge lead in half heading into the third period, but that was as close as Saskatoon would get.

Lethbridge outshot the Blades 12-3 in the second and 12-7 in the third period, and 38-18 overall.

Jackson Unger picked up the win for the Hurricanes.

Next up for the Hurricanes is a Friday night meeting with the Red Deer Rebels, where they will try to sweep their four-game homestand.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
