Team Alberta is no more – Calgary’s women’s hockey team has a new look and a new name.
The team made the announcement just before Monday night’s preseason game between the Flames and the Rangers.
Dubbed the ‘Calgary Inferno’, the women will be donning a uniform similar to the Calgary Flames’ colours of red, yellow, and black.
The uniform also includes a unique striping pattern.
The rebrand is a result of a joint venture between the Canadian Women’s Hockey League and the NHL team.
The CWHL Calgary home opener is scheduled for November 29 at Winsport.
