Oliver Tulk leads way with hat trick as Hitmen topple Warriors 5-1
Led by Oliver Tulk’s hat trick, the Calgary Hitmen defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors 5-1 Wednesday night at the Saddledome.
The win moved the Hitmen back into a three-way tie for first place in the WHL’s Eastern Conference alongside Medicine Hat and Saskatoon.
It was their ninth straight home win.
Ben Kindel picked up an assist, extending his point-scoring streak to 21 games, the longest streak in team history. It broke the previous record of 20 set by Pavel Brendl in the 1998-99 season.
Tulk opened the scoring, before Moose Jaw’s Aiden Ziprick tied it up in the second.
David Adaszynski broke the tie and opened the floodgates for the Hitmen. Axel Hurtig scored to make it 3-1, followed by Tulk’s second to make it 4-1.
In the third, Tulk scored to complete his hat trick.
The Hitmen outshot Moose Jaw 53-24 on the night.
Next up for the Hitmen is a Friday night contest against the Saskatoon Blades. Puck drop for that one is scheduled for 7 p.m.
