RCMP in Vulcan is investigating what appears to be the parental abduction of two young girls by their biological mother.
Police were called to an elementary school in the hamlet of Brandt at about 10:45 a.m. Monday.
When they arrived, they were told that two sisters Telisha and Taya Meisel may have left the school and met with their biological mother, Trina Meisel.
Police say Trina Meisel, 48, does not have legal guardianship of the children.
Telisha Meisel is described as:
- 12-year-old female
- Long blond wavy hair
- Wearing a turquoise green sweater, a grey stripped t-shirt and blue jeans
Taya Meisel is described as:
- 6-year-old female
- Long blond wavy hair
- Wearing prescription glasses
Police believe the mother and the girls are travelling in a 2007 black Honda CRV with Alberta licence ORNRSE.
Investigators do not believe the children are in immediate danger and say they believe they have been taken either to Saskatchewan or Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
