The homicide unit is investigating the suspicious death of a minor at a home in the community of Citadel.
Emergency crews were called to a home in the 100 block of Citadel Dr. N.W. at about 10:00 p.m. Tuesday where a youth was found dead.
The teenaged male was found in medical distress and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances that lead up to the boy's death are unclear so police are treating it as suspicious.
Neighbours were surprised to see police tape cordoning off a home in their neighbourhood.
“Quite a big shock actually,” said Marty Rowley. “I’m surprised, right, I come out and everything’s going on and the police tape and everything.”
“It’s just not something you would expect in Citadel, I mean you walk by everyday and just to see something like this and to find out what’s going on, how safe are you up here?” said Ty Ward.
Police say that an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to determine the cause of death.
