Police are not saying much after the arrest and take down of an alleged sex assault suspect on Friday.

Police arrested Michael Nadolnick around 5 p.m. on Friday at the Red Pepper Pub in the 4800 Block of 26 Ave. N.E.

Patrons in the bar say they didn't realize Nadolnick was there until eight officers entered the lounge, surrounded and arrested him.

Nadolnick is charged with sexual assault with a firearm, break and enter and kidnapping, unlawful confinement, robbery with a firearm, and unlawful possession of a handgun.

He is alleged to have kidnapped a 19-year-old woman at gun point from a business in Monterey Park on Monday November 10.

Then he allegedly carjacked a truck with a 68-year-old man inside and drove around the city with the 2 victims for over four hours.

The woman was sexually assaulted several times and forced to call another woman on the phone to talk about her ordeal.

Nadolnick has a history of violence and a lengthy criminal record.

He was released from the Bowden Institution in September and was wanted for failing to make a scheduled appearance before the parole board at the time of the attack.

People in the area say they are glad an arrest has been made.

"That's pretty scary, but it's nice to know police did finally catch him and he's off the streets," said Chris Pontom.

"I'm really happy that he's caught, my best friend lives here too," said Sabrina Ting, "she's got a four year old, I've got a three month old and we're both home most of the time."

Nadolnick is being questioned by investigating officers of the Sex Crimes Unit.
