Another anonymous letter that appears to threaten the oil and gas industry has been sent to a local media in Dawson Creek, in the heart of northeastern B.C.'s oil and gas country.

The letter, which has been turned over to RCMP, says the "time out is over" and warns that "a long hot summer is coming," according to media reports.

RCMP Sgt. Rob Vermeulen confirms the letter has been turned over and investigators are trying to determine whether the letter is from the same person who sent the previous letters.

There have been six unsolved pipeline bombings targeting Calgary-based EnCana's operations around Tomslake, near Dawson Creek, since October 2008.

Prior to the first bombing, anonymous letters were sent to local media calling EnCana "terrorists" and demanding the company cease operations. The attacks caused property damage, but no injuries.

The task force investigating the bombings searched the Alberta farm of convicted gas well bomber Wiebo Ludwig earlier this year but no charges have been laid in the case.
