Officials with the Calgary Police Service confirm a second suspect has been charged in connection with the beating death of Tyler Sanderson in May of this year.
Sanderson was found severely injured by members of his family in the 5500 block of Maddock Drive Northeast in the evening hours of May 15. The 24-year-old was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to police, the assault followed a meeting related to drug activity. Investigators believe Sanderson had been injured during an altercation near the intersection of 52 St. and Memorial Drive N.E. The injured man attempted to make his way home before collapsing in his yard.
Dylan Irvin George Calf, a 24-year-old man of no fixed address, has been charged with second degree murder.
George is the second person to face charges in connection with Sanderson’s death. On July 18, 34-year-old Lori Ann Heavenfire was charged with second-degree murder.
Calf is scheduled to appear in court on September 9, 2016.
