A steady stream of travellers have been making their way through the gates at the Calgary International Airport in what will be the busiest travel day of the year.
Officials say that more than 50,000 people will have passed through the terminal by the end of the day on Friday.
Many are heading home for the holidays or to a winter travel destination and the airport says they've brought in a full complement of staff to deal with the rush.
The heavy volume means longer lineups to get through security and airport officials have provided a tip sheet to help travellers get through quicker.
On average, Calgary International Airport sees about 30 to 40,000 passengers through its doors every day.
