According to Carol Henke, Calgary Fire Department public information officer, emergency crews responded to a location in the 11500 block of 114 Avenue Southeast at approximately 1:15 p.m. following reports of a propane tank explosion.

Three people who were inside the building on the premises of Hennessey Welding Ltd. at the time of the explosion suffered burns to their faces and were transported to hospital.
