Alberta business owners now have a new place to go to share ideas with other entrepreneurs and learn from banking and business experts.
The ATB Entrepreneur Centre officially opened on 17 Avenue on Tuesday.
Officials hope that the facility will help entrepreneurs to launch businesses and properly handle the changes they have ahead of them.
“Being an entrepreneur can be tough and sometimes it can be pretty lonely,” said Wellington Holbrook, ATB’s executive vice-president in a release. “We understand that owning your own business can be filled with moments of exhilaration, fear, success and challenges. We can stand beside entrepreneurs through those moments so they can operate their businesses with confidence.”
The Entrepreneur Centre is the first such institution in the province. It will also work to connect business owners with free workshops with topics such as:
- How can my business become a social enterprise?
- Dealing with divorce as an entrepreneur
- Crowdfunding – is it a fit for my business?
- Social media 101
- How can I learn from my failures to arrive at success?
The workshops and services are available to all Albertans, not just ATB customers.
The second centre is scheduled to open in Edmonton in May and there are plans to expand to others in the near future.
