The GREEN Network (TGN) is a group building a business to business & business to not-for-profit network whose sole purpose is to help companies achieve their corporate social responsibility goals with all of their end-of-life or end-of-use corporate assets. They believe that most corporate assets that go to the landfill can be diverted to charities.
TGN is hosting a very important volunteer event in support of our charity of choice. This year we chose to support The Women in Need Society- called Christmas in July which is a donation drive, “The 12 Days of Christmas Wish List”.
This event is specifically being held to help offset the devastating effects of multiple break-ins at their head office and all four of their thrift store locations. To make matters worse- these break-ins and acts of vandalism happened over the Christmas holidays in 2014.
CTV News together with AMJ Campbell and the rest of The GREEN Network team of businesses and not-for-profits are asking the generous business community of Calgary to sponsor and support this event and help WINS keep their shelves full.
They are experiencing a struggle in donations and also a significant rise in requests for FREE GOODS- through their referral agency network. They never want to say, “No” to anyone- for any reason. Even in these challenging times WINS has given away over $100,000 in free goods in 2015 to date.
