Patrons of the Red Mile have a new place to pick up some treats now that the former location of the Melrose will house a bakery.
This September, the Corbeaux Bakehouse will be opening in the building that the Melrose closed down suddenly.
The Melrose Café and Bar on 17 Avenue S.W. closed down after 23 years of business in mid-January.
The owners of the business made the decision to focus on the location at Cowboy Casino.
The S.W. restaurant gained international exposure during the 2004 Calgary Flames playoff run.
According to the Facebook page for the Corbeaux Bakehouse, they are looking forward announcing a new menu and staff at their permanent location.
