Schools in Calgary and surrounding areas are closed Friday due to the extreme flooding situation.
All public and catholic schools in Calgary and all catholic schools in Airdrie, Cochrane and Chestermere are shut down.
Classes and exams at Mount Royal University have been cancelled due to flooding conditions across the city. The University will be open with limited services and some offices and services may be closed due to staffing.
The University of Calgary is closed for regular business. All Friday classes are cancelled. The university has encouraged students, faculty and staff to stay home.
SAIT Polytechnic will remain open with limited resources Friday for those who can safely make it to campus. Exams scheduled for apprentice students will run as usual but special accommodations will be made for those who are unable to attend.
Additionally, students at Calgary Girls’ School, Rundle College Senior High and Calgary Academy are asked to stay home.
The alternative schools of the Palliser School Division in Calgary are closed.
Schools in the Foothills School Division are not open today. This closure impacts schools in Okotoks, High River, Black Diamond, Turner Valley, Millarville and Longview.
