A Lethbridge man is in stable condition and recovering in hospital after he was assaulted outside a downtown nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning.

An officer heard someone call for help around 5 a.m. while patrolling along the 200 block of 135 Street South, where he discovered a 24-year-old man on the ground in medical distress.

Police say the man had previously been at Pulse nightclub on First Avenue South around 2 a.m., when he was involved in a fight with a group of men near a black pickup truck parked in front of the club.

The suspects are described as three Indigenous men, one with a larger build.
