The Medical Examiner has determined the deaths of two people in a Lake Bonavista home are not related to carbon monoxide poisoning.
At approximately 12:50 p.m. Saturday afternoon, EMS responded to a home in the 12000 block of Lake Erie Rd. S.E. following reports of two people in cardiac arrest.
According to EMS spokesperson Adam Loria, the EMS crew discovered two bodies inside the home and both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial reports indicated a carbon monoxide leak within the home but an investigation by the Medical Examiner determined air quality was not a factor in the deaths. The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is not involved in the investigation.
The identities of the deceased have not been released but neighbours say the home belonged to a couple in their mid to late fifties who were parents to grown children.
