The bail hearing for a woman accused of shooting her husband to death has been put over to January.

Heather Wilson Duncan appeared in a Calgary courtroom Friday morning seeking bail but had her hearing rescheduled for Jan. 13.

The 60-year-old is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 68-year-old Barry Duncan.

Police say it happened at a home last Friday evening just west of Didsbury near Elkton.

Officers were called to the home and found the man shot to death inside the residence.

Police say the victim's wife had called 911 and told them she'd pulled the trigger.

Duncan's lawyer said she's crushed to be spending the holidays behind bars. But he said he's confident she will be released on interim because she has no prior criminal record and seems to pose no risk to the community.

Duncan's next provincial court date on her second-degree murder charge is scheduled for Monday in Didsbury.
