The son of a missing St. Albert couple is hoping for the safe return of Otto Loose.
The disappearance of Otto ‘Bunty' Loose is reminiscent of another unsolved case.
Alberta seniors, Lyle and Marie McCann, set out on a road trip nearly a year and a half ago, and have not been seen since.
The last known whereabouts of Lyle McCann was at a gas station. Days later, the McCann's motor home was located. It had been destroyed by fire.
RCMP have named a suspect in the case, but no one has been charged.
The bodies of the McCann's have not been recovered. A $60,000 reward for information on their whereabouts is still active.
"It's just a nightmare to have a loved one just disappear like that," says Bret McCann, the son of Lyle and Marie.
The search for ‘Bunty' has been underway for days. Bret McCann says ‘Bunty' Loose could still be safe.
Bret McCann told CTV News that the family of Otto Loose remains in his family's thoughts.
He hopes a tip from the public, no matter how small, could help in the search for the missing man.
"I really hope that the last image that his family sees of him isn't a security video at a gas station, like my father."
