CALGARY – Conservative Stephanie Kusie has been re-elected in Calgary Midnapore.

Calgary Midnapore is located in the city’s southwest and runs from the intersection of Macleod Trail and Glenmore Trail to the southernmost city limits. The area was created when boundaries were redistributed in 2012.

Calgary Midnapore has a history of holding strong support for the Conservative Party and it would be considered a major shakeup if a candidate from another party were successful come October 21st. Stephanie Kusie won 77 per cent of the vote in a federal byelection in 2017, a seat left vacant from Jason Kenney. Kenney resigned from federal politics to run for leader of Alberta’s Progressive Conservative Party and later became  Alberta’s Premier in the 2019 spring election.
