Calgary police say two people are in hospital after they were assaulted in two separate incidents on Friday morning.

At 3:45 a.m., officials say patrol officers came across an injured adult male walking south on Fourth Street near 26 Avenue N.W. in the community of Mount Pleasant.

Police say the man was likely assaulted and sustained a head injury near a pub on 16 Avenue N.W.

Police say the victim was later taken to hospital as a precaution.

In the second incident, which was reported at about 6:10 a.m., police said an adult male arrived at a friend's home in Falconridge.

Police said the man had been stabbed multiple times.

He was taken to hospital in critical, but stable, condition.

Officers were called to the 2000 block of 44 Street S.E. after someone called police to stay they found a large pool of blood.

Police say that and the stabbing are the same incident and it is under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
