Visitors to the Calgary Zoo will be able to take a look at some new animals during their next visit.

Two Eurasian lynx, including Kazan, a male, and Anastasia, a female, have been moved into the Eurasia area of the zone, in the exhibit previously inhabited by the snow leopards.

The leopards are now in a newly renovated exhibit right across from the Japanese Macaque exhibit.

Both of the animals arrived from the Elmvale Jungle Zoo in Elmvale, Ontario.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome these two new additions to our zoo,” says Jamie Dorgan, General Curator in a release. “As ambassador animals, they will provide another way to educate our visitors about the species and conservation needs.”

There are an estimated 40,000 Eurasian lynx left in the wild.
