It’s been a long time coming, but Grade 12 students at Highwood High School in High River were able to celebrate their graduation.
June’s historic flooding of the Highwood River prompted the cancellation of the school’s convocation ceremony. The event had been scheduled for the same day the flooding started.
99 of the 114 graduating Highwood students crossed the stage and received their diplimas in Thursday's ceremony at the Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School in Okotoks.
Premier Alison Redford and Minister Rick Fraser were among the dignitaries in attendance.
