A police investigation into a 37-year-old Lethbridge man, previously arrested and charged in connection to the alleged sexual assaults of young boys, has resulted in 19 additional charges.
In January, Lethbridge police arrested Jamey Byran Kristian, a teacher at Raymond Elementary School and charged him in connection to assaults on two young boys which are alleged to have occurred between 2008 and 2013.
Following the January arrest, officers seized electronic devices from Kristian. Members of ICE, the Internet Child Exploitation unit, examined the electronics and located child pornography including more than 2,000 images and 150 videos. According to police, many of the computer files were recorded in change rooms at public pools in the Lethbridge area.
Further investigation revealed a third sexual assault victim who was allegedly assaulted by Kristian in 2012 when the boy was 10 years old.
Kristian faces the following 26 charges in connection to the alleged offences:
- Four counts of sexual assault
- Four counts of sexual interference
- Three counts of voyeurism
- Two counts of sexual exploitation
- One count of invitation to sexual touching
- Six counts of making child pornography
- Five counts of possessing child pornography
- One count of accessing child pornography
Kristian is scheduled to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court on June 13.
