A teary news conference from the father-in-law of the last avalanche victim sums up the feeling in the small community of Sparwood.

Randy Roberts choked up repeatedly Tuesday morning as he spoke to reporters in the hours before his son-in-law's body was found.

Danny Bjarnason was the last man to be discovered by rescuers.

Roberts said his son and his group of friends loved the excitement of snowmobiling and were the best of friends.

He said his son-in-law had just been promoted at his job at the coal mine and was a great father and a very caring man.
