The Owen Hart Foundation is donating the proceeds from its annual concert event to The Calgary Foundation’s Flood Rebuilding Fund.

The foundation was created 14 years ago in memory of Calgary wrestler Owen Hart who was killed in the ring in 1999 in Kansas City, Missouri.

His wife Martha Hart founded the charity to help those with limited resources and unlimited potential.

"The Alberta Floods have taken a terrible toll on many Albertans and as every day passes we see the growing need for financial assistance; we are happy to offer support through our annual event" said Martha Hart, founder of The Owen Hart Foundation.

The comedy duo of Steve Martin and Martin Short are headlining this year’s event and the foundation is also hosting East Village seniors to lift their spirits.

"Our seniors in the East Village had to leave their homes during the flood and are now just trying to resume their daily lives; we want to offer these seniors living in poverty a fun night out. We all need to rally around those in need and those affected by this unexpected and devastating tragedy. It is time to rebuild and move forward, and we are proud to be a part of this process" said Hart.

Steve Martin and Martin Short in a Very Stupid Conversation is on Friday September 6th at 8:00 p.m. at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.
