Now that school has started, many parents are looking to get their kids into the routine of extra curricular activities, but many in High River are having trouble.

The High River Tigers swim team is trying to start up their new season, but they’re lacking a pool because flooding in June destroyed the one they normally use.

It’s not certain when it will be able to re-open and as registration was on Thursday night, about 50 kids will need to go elsewhere.

Organizers say they’ll need to go as far at Claresholm to swim.

To make matters worse, the club is not-for-profit and collecting fees following the flood has been tricky.

Parents are worried about how long it will take before things are back to normal.

“That’s their physical activity,” said Alison Laycraft. “We want to make sure we get them back in the water. We have no pool!”

The club hopes that someone will be able to come forward and assist them in meeting the season’s costs.
