May 8th is McHappy Day and McDonald’s Restaurants is donating $1 from every Big Mac, Happy Meal and McCafe sold to children’s charities across Canada.
The donations will support Ronald McDonald House and other children’s charities.
Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation and support to sick kids and their families.
“McHappy Day is always special and also a tradition for McDonald’s Restaurants across Canada,” said Don Lam from McDonald’s. “We bring together family, customers, employees, suppliers and other special guests to raise money to help the children in need,”
Canadian McHappy stats for 2012:
- 402,802 Big Mac were sold
- 207,246 Happy Meals were sold
- 709,907 McCafe hot drinks were sold
- 1400 restaurants across Canada participated
The program helps 10,000 Canadian families each year and last year the initiative raised over $8 Million.
