One man suffered burns to his face in a fire at an apartment building in northeast Calgary on Tuesday.

The Calgary Fire Department was called to a building in the 400 block of Pinestream Way N.E. at 12:30 p.m. for reports of a fire on a third-floor balcony.  

Firefighters extinguished the flames quickly, but one man was injured in the blaze.

The fire department says the man was found inside the building by police officers. EMS transported him to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

The fire caused significant damage to the suite where it originated, as well as the apartment above.
