Hans Sahlen was heartbroken Sunday morning when he discovered Blue Belle, the string bass he has owned for the last decade, had been stolen from his vehicle.

Sahlen, a professional musician, says he was headed to church when he discovered his secure garage had been entered overnight. The culprit, or culprits, broke into his Chevrolet Uplander and removed an amplifier, cables, microphones, a book containing all of his songs and his beloved Blue Belle.

“We've played golf tournaments, we've played children's parties, we've played senior citizen's residences, we've played, downtown we've played at farmers market and we've brought a lot of smiles to many, many people,” said Sahlen of his treasure string bass. “I have young children who come up to me all the time and jump up and down and go ‘Blue Belle, Blue Belle, Blue Belle’.

“They don't care about me, they just care about Blue Belle,” laughs Sahlen.

Sahlen says the cost of repairing his vehicle and replacing the stolen items is roughly $4,000. AXE Music is offering a $500 reward for Blue Belle’s return and no questions will be asked.
