It’s been a year since a Calgary man was shot to death in a northeast alley and police have released new information in an effort to generate new tips from the public.
Police were called to the 100 block of Del Ray Road N.E. at about 2:30 p.m. on December 13, 2015 for reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found Hussein Merhi, 26, lying in front of a vehicle in an alleyway in medical distress. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe Merhi met up with at least two people and that he was shot during an altercation in the alley.
An autopsy confirmed that he died of gunshot wounds and police say they don’t believe the shooting was a random incident.
A dark coloured SUV, possibly a 2000 – 2006 Ford Escape, was seen leaving the scene and was captured on a surveillance camera in the area.
Investigators have now released descriptions of two suspects in the case.
The first suspect is described as:
- Caucasian male
- About 25 years old
- Medium build
- Blond hair
- Wearing all black clothing, including a black winter coat and black sunglasses
The second suspect is described as:
- Caucasian male
- Blond hair
- Thin build
