Calgary police are on the hunt for an unidentified male suspect following an afternoon attack which left one man suffering from potentially life threatening injuries.
Officers responded to the busy intersection of Stephen Ave. and 1 St. S.W. at around 3:00 p.m. Monday following reports of a stabbing. CPS members located a severely injured man. EMS transported the victim, a man in his early thirties, to hospital in serious condition.
Dozens of police were deployed to the scene and continue to search the downtown core for the assailant.
Police believe the stabbing was not a random incident.
