Mother Nature has accomplished what Principal Rooney could not as Saturday’s grey skies and rainy weather have put an end to Ferris Bueller’s antics.

Saturday evening’s Movie in the Village outdoor screening of the 1986 classic ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ has been cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday, September 12.

The Movie in the Village was scheduled to coincide with this weekend’s Taste the Trucks 3. While the movie has been postponed, the food trucks will be on site at the RiverWalk Plaza (618 Confluence Way S.E.) on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Weather permitting, the movie will run on the exterior of a building along the East Village Riverwalk. The film is free, but organizers are suggesting a minimum $5 donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC). Representatives from LLSC and Leukemia and Lymphoma survivors will be on hand to raise awareness and collect donations.

The airing of the 1980’s classic is part of the buildup to the 9th annual Light the Night Walk for LLSC which will be held on Saturday, October 5.
