A Calgary man is facing a 14 year sentence for making and distributing child pornography and has been declared a long term offender.
Roderick Kyle Janssen, 37, was charged in April of 2011 with several offences and was arrested at his southeast home.
He has been in custody since his arrest.
The Southern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Unit was involved in an undercover operation, led by the FBI, and were notified after Janssen allegedly shared child pornography with an undercover agent online.
A 14-year-old Calgary girl was among the victims.
Janssen pleaded guilty to 18 sex offences including sexual assault, sexual interference with a minor and making and distributing child pornography.
He was sentenced in a Calgary court on Thursday to 14 years and will receive credit for time served.
Janssen was also declared a long term offender and will be under a long term supervision order for ten years after his release.
He will also be placed on the National Sex Offender Registry and be required to provide a DNA sample.
