The expectant mother charged in connection with the murder of a 77 year old Vulcan man appeared in a courtroom in Fort MacLeod on Wednesday.
Bobbi Joe Parks, 28, appeared in the court and asked for a week to secure a lawyer but had nothing more to say.
The woman, who is due to give birth to the child of Timmy Engel her co-accused, rushed past cameras after the appearance.
Parks is facing one charge of obstruction and resisting arrest.
Engel, charged with the first degree murder of Otto Bunty Loose, appeared in court via video-link earlier this week but was remanded to custody and given time to secure a lawyer.
Loose's daughter said that it was more difficult to attend the court hearing because Parks attended in person but still felt it was important to be there. "I really wanted them to see that he had a family, so that's my purpose here. I don't hold any purpose against their families per se – they didn't do this, but I wanted her to see me."
A family friend told CTV News on Wednesday that Parks plans to go to trial.
Parks is due back in court next week.
