Wranglers fall 5-2 to Eagles in Colorado

The Calgary Wranglers lost to the Colorado Eagles 5-2 Friday night in a game played in at the Blue FCU Arena in Loveland.

The Wranglers opened the scoring on a shorthanded goal from Dryden Hunt but the Eagles bounced right back, with Matthew Phillips scoring on the same power play to even the score.

From there, the Eagles scored three straight, getting goals from Mark Senden, Jason Megna and Jason Polin to sprint out to a 4-1 lead.

Early in the third, the Wranglers cut the Eagle lead to two on a goal from Cark Bishop, but late in the period, Devante Stephens added one more to make the final score 5-2 for Colorado.

The Wranglers outshot the Eagles 27-23.

Next up for both squads is a Saturday rematch in Loveland.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
