A popular northwest park is getting set to welcome visitors once again after it was heavily damaged in the floods in June 2013.

The park was undergoing renovations when almost two metres of water filled the parking lots and green spaces.

Crews have been working hard to redo the work and repair the damages and will reopen the west part of the park to the public on Monday, November 10.

The concession is being completely rebuilt and will feature a tea house and rental shop.

“The new facility is designed in such a way that one of the courtyards overlooks the lagoon, making it a functional and enjoyable space the public can used year round,” said Doug Marter, Parks Manager of Planning and Development Services.

The east end of the park is still under construction and is fenced off.
