A solid Saturday performance has a Calgary-based amateur golfer within striking distance entering the final round of the Canadian Open.

Jared du Toit, a member of the Glencoe Golf & Country Club, was two under par on Saturday bring his score to eight under par for the tournament at the Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario.

Du Toit’s round places the 21-year-old amateur in a second place tie with Dustin Johnson, and one stroke behind the current leader Brandt Snedeker.

The Calgarian is attempting to become the first Canadian to win the tournament in 62 years.
