The RCMP has charged two Calgary men in connection with a massive real estate fraud that bilked $33M out of hundreds of investors in Alberta.

In March 2012, investigators were notified about the possibility of an investment fraud scheme involving a business doing real estate work in Crowsnest Pass.

The business, Bridgecreek Development Corporation, was working on a proposed real estate development at Crowsnest Lake.

Over 800 investors were on board with the plan, but police soon found that funds were being diverted to other accounts.

Police say the financial loss exceeded $33M.

William Lloyd Bradley, 68, and Colin Joseph Becker, 49, have been jointly charged with committing fraud and theft.

Bradley and Becker were officers and directors of Bridgecreek Development Corporation when the offences occurred.

They have been released from custody and will make their first court appearance on August 11.
