A seven-year-old girl remains in critical condition in hospital with serious head injuries after she was hit by a truck driven by her father on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Tuscany Glen Park N.W. at about 4:50 p.m. for reports of a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian.
Police say the little girl was standing on the sidewalk when the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by her father backed over her.
The child sustained serious head trauma and was rushed to Alberta Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
Police continue to investigate and say alcohol and speed are not considered factors in the crash.
