Environment Canada says there is video confirmation of a tornado touching down southwest of Calgary and damage on the Tsuu T'ina Nation in connection to Wednesday afternoon's storm.
Early Wednesday afternoon, Tornado Warnings were in place for the following regions but all warnings ended before 2:30 p.m.
- City of Calgary
- Chestermere-Dalroy-Dalemead
- Strathmore, Lyalta and Carseland
- Okotoks and De WInton
- Priddis and Brown Lower Provincial Park
- Bragg Creek
- Tsuu T'ina Nation
The severe thunderstorm housing the funnel cloud was spotted just north of Priddis (approximately 15 kilometres west of Calgary's southwest city limits) and travelling in a southeast direction at approximately 30 km/h.
