People in the town of Hanna are cleaning up after a state of local emergency was declared on Monday night due to severe weather.

Power lines were downed in several areas and trees were uprooted after 90 kmilometre an hour winds blew through the town.

Debris was spread all over the community and part of the roof at the Super 8 Motel was blown off.

Crews are out in full force clearing the debris and repairing the damage and are asking residents to stay clear of those areas.

ATCO crews are also in the community working to restore the power.
