Calgary Police have now charged a woman who used to work at a bank in the southwest with identity theft and fraud.
Between June 2012 and November 2013, police say a woman working at a customer experience associate unlawfully requested personal information from several customers of the bank.
That information was then used for property, goods and services at an estimated value of more than $11,000.
The bank where the woman worked became suspicious when some odd activities occurred concerning a credit card account.
An internal investigation was launched, and the bank alerts police who then launched their own investigation.
Police say 20 customers were targeted in the incident, but they have all been contacted about the situation.
Following an investigation that took a year and a half, Georgia Carla Rankine, 37, has been charged with theft of identification, uttering credit card data, identification fraud, and four counts of fraud under $5,000.
She has since been let go from the bank.
Rankine is expected in court on March 19.
