A group of young people worked together to spread some holiday cheer among those less fortunate in Calgary on Thursday night.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association volunteers handed out food and hot drinks to individuals outside the Calgary Drop-In Centre.

The group handed out enough food to feed 200 people.

"These sorts of activities are part of the efforts of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association to foster better support for Canadians and local communities," said Zaki Ahmed, a spokesperson for the group.

The team of about 100 volunteers plan to hand out food every evening through Christmas.
