Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train is welcoming a Canadian legend this year to perform at Calgary’s Anderson Station for the Christmas season.
Sarah McLachlan, along with The Tenors and Matt Dusk will take the stage on Saturday, December 7.
The Holiday Train signature event will be hosted by Peter Mansbridge and will begin with the opening of the North Pole Station at 4 p.m. followed by the concert at 5 p.m.
The concert is in support of the Calgary Food Bank and is free, but those attending are asked to make a cash or non-perishable food donation.
"The holidays can be a stressful time for struggling families and individuals, with the pressure of knowing there isn't enough money for Christmas," said Calgary Food Bank CEO, James McAra in a released. "We are so pleased to have the CP Holiday Train back for a 15th year. Not only for the amazing donations that will help so many, but as a thank you to such a generous community."
The North Pole Station will feature family-oriented interactive activities including ice carving, hot chocolate, and chance for kids to meet with Santa.
CP’s Holiday Train program runs from November 25 to December 19 and features two trains traveling across Canada and the U.S.
Calgary’s event is one of only three similar stops in North America.
