Snowboarder from Alberta killed in avalanche near Golden, B.C.

A 29-year-old man is dead following a Friday afternoon avalanche near the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.
According to RCMP, the man was snowboarding out of bounds when a fellow snowboarder lost contact with him and reported him missing to officials at the ski hill located near Golden, British Columbia.
Police activated the Provincial Emergency Plan and search and rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene.
Members of Golden and District Search and Rescue located the missing snowboarder in avalanche debris. The man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The B.C. Coroner Services and RCMP are investigating the incident.
The identity of the deceased has not been released.
