The Calgary Stampeders have claimed their spot in the 104th Grey Cup after disposing of the B.C. Lions in the West Final.

Lemar Durant opened the scoring with a 3 yard touchdown run to cap the Stamps opening drive. Bo Levi Mitchell touchdown passes to Marquay McDaniel (32 yards) and DaVaris Daniels (76 yards) padded the Stamps lead.

A 26 yard field goal by Rene Paredes extended the Stampeders advantage to 25 late in the second quarter.

Lion’s pivot Jonathon Jennings attempted to find a receiver along the sidelines with 18 seconds remaining in the half but Jamar Wall intercepted the pass and returned it 42 yards for the major.

The Stampeders entered the half with a comfortable 32-0 lead.

In an attempt to spark a comeback, the Lions switched quarterbacks for the second half and the move returned immediate dividends as Travis Lulay scampered and found Emmanuel Arceneaux in the end zone with a shotput toss.

Kicker Richie Leone followed an unsuccessful two point conversion attempt with a single point on the kickoff and the deficit was cut to 32-7.

The lead would prove insurmountable and Lemar Durant’s second touchdown of the game, on a five yard passing play from Bo Levi Mitchell with 8:52 remaining in the fourth quarter, sealed the Stampeders victory.

The final score was 42-15 following a Rene Paredes field goal from 34 yards out for the Stamps, a late Lions touchdown reception by Chris Rainey and a conceded safety by the Stampeders with seconds remaining.

With the win, the Stampeders are Grey Cup bound and will face the Ottawa Redblacks in Toronto next Sunday. The Redblacks claimed their spot in the championship game with a 35-23 victory over the Edmonton Eskimos in the East Final.
