EDMONTON, Oct. 9, 2012 /CNW/ - XL Foods welcomes CFIA as they begin their formal review of the Brooks, Alberta facility.
Co-CEO Brian Nilsson says, "We have worked diligently to address all Corrective Actions and want to thank our employees who have worked tirelessly to prepare us for this inspection. We will continue to work cooperatively with the CFIA as they conduct due diligence and verification of our intensified and enhanced food safety systems."
The company has completed implementing Corrective Action Requests issued by the CFIA following the findings of their investigation. Key elements that have been addressed include detailed documentation; enhanced trend analysis; enhanced record keeping, monitoring and validation of processes, procedures and equipment maintenance; and improved sampling techniques. These efforts, in addition to the intensified and enhanced food safety protocols will improve the process of our contamination prevention program.
