It’s the most expensive real estate listing in Calgary since 2009, and it can be yours for just $12 million.

Sotheby’s International Realty Canada unveiled the ultra-luxurious Manor House in Aspen Estates.

The home offers nearly 10,000 square feet of living space with five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, a media room, an Irish style pub bar, an elevator, and a two level garage that fits seven vehicles.

The home is also built on one full acre of land, comprised of two separately titled lots so the purchaser has lots of room to expand or even build an estate home.

The home was custom built by Jim Quinn who was the original developer of Aspen Estates.

Sotheby’s Realtor Corinne Poffenroth says whoever purchases the house won’t be the typical buyer and will probably be someone who isn’t easily affected by the shifting economy and day to day market.

Sales of one million dollar plus homes are on the slide in Calgary.  So far this year 349 have sold, compared to 539 over the same period last year.

Ann-Marie Lurie, Chief Economist at the Calgary Real Estate Board says the inventory levels have been pushed up because of slower sales which means anyone in the market for a luxury home will have more to choose from.

Two other ultra-luxury listings that went on the market recently are still available.  Ghost Lake Manor near Cochrane is listed at $9.7 million and the Bar-N Ghost Pine Ranch near Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump is listed at a whopping $54 million.
