An early morning assault at a home in the community of Royal Oak has left a man in critical, life-threatening condition.
Police responded to a residence in the 0 to 100 block of Royal Oak Drive N.W. at 1:45 a.m. Sunday morning.
Inside the home, police discovered a man, believed to be approximately 60-years-old, with severe injuries suffered in a recent attack.
The victim was transported to hospital by EMS where he remains in critical, life threatening condition.
A second man, believed to be in his 40’s, is currently in police custody.
The relationship between the two men is not known at this time. Police believe the assault was not a random attack.
Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, the CPS Homicide Unit is investigating the assault.
